Planning to vote this October?

Here’s what you need to know about the election this October.

I wanted to let you know about a few upcoming dates that you’re going to want to jot down. The Raleigh City Council and Mayoral election is fast approaching, and we’ve only got a few weeks left! Time flies, especially at my age.

Here’s what you need to know:

Voter Registration ends on Friday, September 13th.

That’s barely a month from now! Visit the Wake County Board of Elections site now to register, or make sure you’re information is up-to-date.

Absentee Voting begins on Wednesday, September 18th. It ends Friday, October 4th.

Make plans to vote NOW, not later. You can plan ahead and avoid the crowds by voting early. Check this Wake County Board of Elections site page to locate your polling location today.

Election Day is Tuesday, October 8th.

If you didn’t vote early (but you should), Election Day is your last chance. Think of it as the last day to vote, not the first. Here’s a Raleigh News & Observer article with information about all the candidates in the race.

I’ll see you at the polls this fall!
